Dragonfly 03:22
Came in from a distance Not sure from which direction So certain of her landing She made no course correction So hard to decide Is it best to watch or wave goodbye? Dragonfly A beauty and a confidence But really with no self defense You caught the light and caught my eye I love you but I’m terrified Will you stay or will you go? Or will it be a bit of both? So hard to decide What is truth and what are lies? So hard to decide Is it best to watch or wave goodbye? Dragonfly

QEII 03:49
Rolling down the Queen’s highway past gold and under blue Signs reflect the distance growing between this empty seat and you Endless sky above me starts to turn an amber hue flat land curves and bursts as rocks protrude into my view You’ll still see the same stars as me tonight Pylons stand like soldiers and we’re crawling in one lane Now there’s time to wish that I was home with you again and I will be soon so until then say you’ll look up like you always do Prairies to the east of me valleys to the west Rolled over five hundred now I need a place to rest You’ll still see the same stars as me tonight

Ain't Happy 04:10
She ain't happy without a babe in her arms Without sunrise cries like morning alarms She ain't happy when the silence returns And I ain't happy without her Yeah I ain't happy without her She ain't rich, but she's fine with what she's got Her intentions are good but her credit is shot She ain't rich, but she'll give up her lot And I ain't rich, but I've got her Yeah, I ain't rich, but I've got her She ain't lost but she know where home can be found I don’t have a ring but she knows I’m always around She ain’t lost, yeah, she knows we are bound And when I’m lost, it’s a blur But I ain’t lost, when I’m with her
4.
Madeline 03:00
Madeline, please listen. Are you coming out or can I come in? Oh, Madeline. Please say anything. Once again, I’ve messed up everything and everytime we talk things out. Oh, Madeline. I’ll be waiting here if I have to sleep by the door. What do you want me to say as if there’s anything more? Madeline, please open the door even if to say we’re not anymore, my dear. “I’m too tired to fight.” That’s what you always say. What are my words even worth (if) silence is gold anyway? Anyway, Madeline, I’ve said enough -- you win.

Ghosts 03:08
I got an invitation To the west coast But I turned it down Cause I'm scared of your ghost Haunting our street The thing that terrifies me It's not that I might see your ghost It's that it won't see me Not sure who died first Or what was the cause Was it words that were thrown Or was it the vase? Whatever it was It was the end of us It's clear enough to see Your spirit was already... Free to come Free to leave Free to be doubted Or to be believed Free to plant yourself Nowhere to go Nowhere is home But I've got my burdens My burdens to bear With this ball and chain I'm not going anywhere (And) you're hanging round With no place to be No one gets the last laugh Cause you and I aren't... You've got your postcards I've got my walls You walk your streets While I'm pacing my halls Thinking on you Never satisfies me It's not that I miss your ghost It's that your ghost don't miss me
6.
The night before, full of decisions whiskey or wine, liquid provisions Slept on your side, propped up and dropped out Nothing to hide This is your survival Can’t even think about tomorrow Stumbling in to your brothers car You slept the whole way with your sunglasses on Aching and hungover You opened the door and fell out on the lawn You made your arrival Don’t worry about tomorrow Hugs from your mom and your gramma too No words of the stains on your shirt or your shoes Somehow they knew what you’d been through Shaking of hands, slurring of greetings red blood-shot eyes and memories fleeting You could've hidden, made some excuses but you weren’t afraid to parade your abuses This is your survival Don’t even think about tomorrow This is your survival Can’t even think about tomorrow
7.
This day’s not done until I’m near you but I fear you have other plans The sun may be down and crickets calling with no stars falling how can I wish you here? Slow, steady pulse of your breathing each breath tells me you’re dreaming what will tomorrow bring if you’re not lying beside me? I wonder what is dividing you from me? Under my head no phone ringing has me thinking what’s keeping you away? Your pillow cold and alone here But this ain’t all clear and now I’m left wondering.
8.
She scans in photos and posts them online memories surge from the back of her mind loved one taken before her time She takes a moment to rewind under her breath she... mumbles softly “I hate this time of year.” “I hate this time of year.” Snow drifts sideways; pulls her along ditches sing a siren song wait forever for a disappointing dawn Sun’s barely up before it’s gone with quiet curses, she prays alone, “I hate this time of year.” “I hate this time of year.” “I hate this time of year.” But a day will come, it'll all be clear
9.
Staring at the tv screen the sunrise staring back at me Waking up from a dream Lying awake, here in Alberta You smell the earth, you see the sky The soil is wet but the air is dry The sun is low but the fields high Just another day, here in Alberta Snow falls in the month of May hits the ground and melts away cursing quietly you say Why do we stay, here in Alberta? In their own time, seasons change and everything is rearranged There’s beauty born from the stains Come alive, oh! Alberta My first love and my first tears Starry nights and stolen beers It's where I'll spend my final years Find me a place here in Alberta Nowhere else but here in Alberta
10.
And you wake up With your head between your knees And a heart that’s saying “Please explain… this break up between what was to be and what can never be again.” No balloons No banner to hang No speeches Or songs with the gang No final beers Or well wishing cheers There’s no farewell party For this kinda gone
